The Watershed
The brief was to convert a former weaving shed and adjoining three-storey building into a base for three theatre companies comprising a Studio Theatre, Media Centre, shopfront display, workshops, offices and stores. A new cantilevered riverside balcony, a response to the Client's request for outside space where none existed, provided a dramatic extension to the Studio Theatre. The project was split into three phases as funding allowed.
